Arrangements for her visitation have been made for Saturday, June 18th, at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home located at 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blocks east of Woodward) in Royal Oak, Michigan.
A private family gathering will be held from 2 pm to 3 pm, with friends welcome from 3 pm to 8 pm. The memorial service will be held at 4 pm.
McDonald passed away to be with Our Lord on June 11th, 2022. She was born on March 15th, 1971, in Pontiac, Michigan, to her parents Vernon Leonard McDonald Sr. and Doris Lee McDonald. Loleta loved to sing, and her beautiful voice touched the hearts of many.
She was singing alongside her father, Vernon, in his band. Music, playing the guitar, and sharing her voice brought her great joy and great joy to others all her life.
Moreover, Loleta was an excellent and intuitive cook and never needed a recipe. Two of her most famous dishes were her signature egg rolls and chili, and the sole purpose of her cooking was to share with others.
Above all, Loleta loved deeply. Her love for those around her and God was radiant, unmistakable, and steadfast.
Her family and her God were the most important things in her life. To know her was to love her. Loleta was always willing to lend a helping hand and go out of her way to love others – strangers and family alike
One of Loleta’s greatest blessings was her daughter, Heather Modlinski, and her father, David Modlinski. Heather was everything to her, her whole world, and loved every second of watching her grow.
Her light lives on in those she is survived by, her daughter Heather, who she lovingly called “Her Sunshine,” her mother Doris, and her beloved brothers and sisters – Leonard Stewart, Robert (Kathryn) Stewart, Linda (Larry) Serapilia, Vernon (Liesa) McDonald, Loretta (Curt) Cwiek, Rockie McDonald, Kimberly (Kurt) Kaminski, Johnny McDonald, beloved nieces and nephews, and dear best friends Amber Bowman and Pam Neumann.
